Elevation Burger

While looking at Paleo restaurants listed for the Washington, D.C. area, I came across one by the name of Elevation Burger. The name was familiar to me as there is one of their restaurants located in Frederick, Maryland where I do my weekly grocery shopping. One day I decided to go there and check them out. I found the interior to be quite warm in a familiar sort of way. The floor was made of wood, bamboo to be specific, and the tables were made of natural fibers too. The walls were done in subway tile and the ceilings were tall and open. All of this gave me a very relaxed and welcome feeling.

There was a young man, with a pleasant smile, who greeted me and was ready to take my order. I scanned the menu and settled on their signature elevation burger as they would wrap it in lettuce so I could have mine Paleo style without the bun. There were toppings of many types and I decked my double burger out to suit my taste. I ordered the hand-cut fries to go with this feast as Elevation Burger advertises their use of Bertolli Olive Oil for cooking them. If you follow the Paleo template, then you know olive oil is one of the preferred fats because it is not a hydrogenated oil and it does not breakdown into trans-fat when heated. Trans-fat raises your bad (LDL) cholesterol and lowers your good (HDL) cholesterol. I completed my meal with a cup of Honest Green Tea as it’s one of my favorite brands for its low and organic sugar content.

Now about the taste! What can I tell you? One of the best burgers I’ve had. Where else could you find organic, grass-fed and free-range beef at such an affordable price? And for those of you who prefer a veggie burger or grilled chicken sandwich, they have them there too. So bring the family and show your support for a company who is concerned about sustainable resources and serving healthy food. Enjoy!
