With this post, I will describe periodically my experience with the Earthing half-sheet. I recently purchased mine from Amazon with the hope that it will resolve what I believe to be a pinched nerve. I usually wake up long before the birds start chirping, get out of bed and notice some tightness starting in my left gluteal (buttock) with a tingling sensation radiating down my left leg. After some time, it usually subsides before I leave for work.
I travel about two hours, work eight hours and then make the return trip home. I complete this routine 5 days per week and believe all that sitting, in a confined space, has caused my issue. It is usually on the return trip, where I will stop halfway to get out of the car. That’s when the real fun begins. Not to offend anyone my senior, but I walk hunched over as though I am fifty years older than I am and it’s not a pretty sight. With this interesting gait, there is some discomfort and a tingling feeling in my left leg. The left gluteal is also very tight deep into its core as though in a permanent contraction with some discomfort as well. I am reluctant to take any medication for the discomfort as I believe it will only mask the problem. Thus, enters the Earthing half-sheet.
Sunday, March 29, 2015 – Per the instructions, we placed the half-sheet across the lower section of our bed, above the bottom sheet, and tucked in at the sides. This will allow our bare legs to come into direct contact with the half-sheet. With the outlet tester provided, I checked the closest electrical outlet to be sure the outlet was properly grounded. Then I connected the grounding cord first to the half-sheet followed by inserting the other end into the ground terminal of the electrical outlet. Next, we returned the other covers and got ready for bed.
Monday morning, March 30, 2015 – Having slept soundly, I am somewhat relieved to find myself without the usual morning discomfort that has plagued me for better than two months. I’ll reserve more comment for now as I want to get further into this experiment before I pass judgement. On the return trip home, there was some mild discomfort but I wasn’t quite hunched over as in previous trips.
Friday, April 3, 2015 – Since installing my Earthing half-sheet, the physical complications I spoke of have subsided. Instead of the tingling in my left leg and the tightness in my left gluteal, there is only a hint of something going on. I no longer walk hunched over when I stop halfway on the return trip home. Call it what you will, but there is noticeable improvement after installing the Earthing half-sheet. I will continue to give updates going forward.
Thursday, April 9, 2015 – No significant change from earlier comment. There is still a hint of something going on. Sleep deprivation may have been a contributor to my condition so I am working to correct that situation as well.
Tuesday, April 14, 2015 – Still travel the same distance so the healing may take a lot longer than I hoped. However, the pain and stiffness is much milder then pre-Earthing half-sheet. The sheet is still on our bed and I’m going to stay grounded.
Sunday, April 19, 2015 – Having not driven that distance in the last four days, the pain and stiffness are no longer present. Started working out at my gym and it feels great!!!
Thursday, April 30, 2015 – It’s been eleven days since my last comment on this topic and my condition seems to be resolved. I will continue to use the half-sheet as I see no reason to remove it. I am a believer in its benefits.
Friday, May 29, 2015 – I no longer have the discomfort reported at the top of this post even though I travel the same distance for work. I continue to use the Earthing half-sheet, and would recommend its use if you are experiencing similar conditions.
